Oktoberfests are now celebrated everywhere in Europe. This will become more difficult in the future, as the EU Intellectual Property Office (EUPO) granted the City of Munich's application to register "Oktoberfest" as a protected trademark in September 2021. According to Munich's economic advisor, one of the aims was to prevent the Oktoberfest from moving to Dubai (source LTU, 15. 9. 2021).
