Digital domicile? In Italy comes the National Index of digital domiciles (INAD)

From July 6, 2023, it will be possible to consult online the National Index of Digital Domiciles (INAD), where every user will be able to communicate a reference PEC address (certificates e-mail address) for all official communications from the Public Administration.

Any citizen who wants to indicate his or her digital domicile can do so by simply logging on to https://domiciliodigitale.gov.it and following the instructions.

Who can register on INAD?

It is a functional tool for both citizens and professionals not registered in registers and lists and private law entities that are not required to register in the INI-PEC Registry.

Why should you register on INAD?

Through the digital domicile it will be much easier to receive official communications from the Public Administration. For example, through this channel it will be possible to receive communications regarding tax refunds and tax deductions, assessments, administrative penalty reports, and so on. Notifications will arrive in real time, without delays or problems related to non-delivery, with significant paper savings and the elimination of the cost of sending through postal services. Citizens will have the documents immediately available, without the need to physically travel to Public Offices to get them.

Is INAD a public registry?

Yes, from July 6, 2023, anyone will be able to freely consult INAD from the public area of the website, without the need for authentication, by simply entering the tax code of the person whose digital domicile they want to know.

While voluntary registration will be required for individuals, all professionals and businesses already registered in the INI-PEC Registry will have all data automatically imported into the INAD Registry.
