An Austrian colleague had sent a brief to a German court in enforcement proceedings by conventional means and had not used the special electronic lawyer mailbox (BEA). The BGH clarified that the German court was right not to take the brief into account. Foreign lawyers – including Italian lawyers – who wish to correspond with German courts are also obliged to use the BEA (BGH of May 15, 2025, IX ZB 1/24).
