Cash limit introduced - New EU authority in Frankfurt am Main

Cash limit introduced - New EU authority in Frankfurt am Main

On 30th May 2024 the EU member states decided in Brussels on a limit of 10,000 euros for cash payments; something new for Germany, but not for Italy. In addition to banks and casinos, traders of luxury goods and providers of crypto-assets will also have to check their business contacts and report suspicious circumstances in future if they exceed certain sums.

The new authority that will monitor these rules is called the Anti-Money Laundering Authority (AMLA). We are proud to announce that our home city of Frankfurt am Main has prevailed over many other applicants and will be home to the new EU authority.
