Cash payment abolished for real estate

In Germany, there is still no limit on cash payments; whether it's a new car or expensive jewellery - cash laughs, according to a German saying.

An exception applies since 01.04.2023 for the purchase of real estate; according to § 16a Para. II iVm § 59 No. 11 Money Laundering Act, it must be proven to the notary that the purchase price was paid by means other than cash, cryptocurrency, gold, platinum or precious stones.
